Asked for smokey blue highlights in the lower high back of my daughters hair. Asked for full foil. They charged full price $50 but only put in tiny pieces you could hardly see. The teacher approved! She must have been in a hurry. Must had not been left in long enough??? Way too much to pay. They should have had us come back to redo. PLUS it washed out in two weeks no kidding!
So I move to Nashville a little over a year ago and I needed somewhere cheap and good to go and I have always heard good things about Aveda. I get a “blonding” which they call it and I am now VERY aware that that is what it has to be called! The last 3 times I went were great, I had the same master student and she did a great job on my hair and I was in and out in an hour and a half every time, and yes I did in fact time it EVERY SINGLE TIME. However the last time I went in I had a different master student who took 20 mins giving me a neck massage, which he said was complimentary with every appointment, yet I have never had it done before. After that took up 20 mins of my appointment the very rude blonde instructor came over and said that I was scheduled for a root touch up and not a blonding and that they couldn’t take me that day. I was shocked....she proceeded to tell me that I should of scheduled a “blonding” even through every appointment I have made in the past I have NEVER called it that, because every other place in the world calls it a root touch up, so that’s what I scheduled and had always scheduled and it was never a problem before then. She proceeded to tell me that they couldn’t do it cause it ALWAYS take 3 hours and they would have to cancel everyone’s appointments for the rest of the day (way over dramatic) I assured her that I have had this done here many times and every single time it has only taken a hour and a half. She continued to be super rude and argue with me and made it out to be my fault cause I scheduled the wrong thing, even though I get the same thing done EVERY SINGLE TIME and they should have my appointment history in the computer. How is any normal person who doesn’t work there suppose to freaking know what a blonding is?!!! She literally made me leave my appointment, thank god I didn’t have an event or anything important that night or I would of lost it. On the way out she said I could make a new appointment and I said “No thanks I just won’t come back” and she gave me the snotties attitude and said “That’s fine.” I was shocked at how rude she was, and she’s suppose to be a leader there?? I will definitely not be going back! I will go pay a little more somewhere else and be treated way better.
I love going here to get my hair done. It is a decent price and I always feel comfortable with the level of attention from the student and instructor. Plus I LOVE Aveda products and happy to get them used on me whenever.
I was a first time guest when I made my first appointment a few weeks ago when the Aveda institute called me, the day of, to alert me that my specific student was not coming in that day. This is totally fine to me, they left me a voicemail while I was at one of my two jobs and when I had time again a couple of weeks later I made a new appointment only to get my hair cut because I've have bad experiences with student salons in the past and in the many times that I talked to the salon, never once was I alerted to the fact that Aveda will cancel your appointment if you're 15 min late. Which should be known period, especially if you're a first time client, and especially at the Galleria Blvd location because getting around the Cool Springs Mall at this time especially is insane. I also called half an hour before my appointment on Friday December 15, 2017 and I specifically said "I will be running about 15 minutes late" to a young man named Julienne who again never mentioned the 15 minute cancellation and then "transferred" me to the Galleria Blvd location voicemail who, once I arrived to the salon "never received my message" and that they were personally (unconvincingly) confused since they had never even had 15 minutes to possibly spare between clients anyway. This may seem like a popular place but it's clearly run very poorly with young and inexperienced people.
Great learning facility. I always have a good experience here. I say learning facility for those who have given poor reviews. They must not understand that they sign a form saying that they are receiving services from students, under the care of professionals. If ever my hair cut was not exactly what I wanted, I have just let the supervising professional know, and they have fixed it. On top of that they are super understanding and friendly. I also love the tea and everything there smells great. I love Aveda!
