Used to love this place then they made changes to pricing and ingredients. You no longer get shrimp until after 4pm but it appears the price is still the same no matter if it is lunch or dinner on the bowls. They used to have one size bowl and now have three but the price of the old bowl has gone up considerably and the two smaller bowls offer less. Seems the place is cutting corners and trying to increase profit bring it to a point it is no longer worth the price. I think they're suffering because of these decisions.
This was my first visit to a place like this. You make your own bowl, including sauce, and then the cooks fry it up for you. My waitress asked if we had ever been to a place like this and we said no. She did not explain the concept of how this all works together or the use of "recipe" cards to build something more familiar. It was not all you can eat so if you didn't like what you made you were pretty much out of luck.
Usually good food and cooked right. Food bar isn’t always well stocked or I hit it right after a rush. Service is hit and miss but overall nothing that’s a deal breaker.
Went with a large group of what I would describe as "varied eaters"...a couple of vegetarians, 1 meat lover, 2 low carb- you get the picture. The best thing is that people can put together their own ingredients and your meal is cooked in front of you. Bowls (small, medium and large) can be filled only once so heap it up if you are hungry. Recipes are available if you are not ready to mix-and-match.
Genghis Grill used to be great. It has now maybe a one step above a restaurant called 'China Buffet" or "5 Star Asian" you do get a lot of food for the price. Just don't expect that food to be very good.
