My water pump started to leak engine coolant on my Chevy truck and I was stuck in a tight situation. I needed to find a mechanic close by in Franklin to drive it to and have the pump replaced. I called several places for quotes. The first place I called (Reliable Auto) stated they could do it for $531, they had great reviews so I thought I would bring it there. I called my mechanic back home in MS to get a second opinion. My mechanic said the parts and labor shouldn't run me over $400, that the first quote was too high. I then called the Chevy dealership (Walker?) and was told it would be $484. I assumed these quotes were normal price hikes for the area, so I figured I would go ahead and schedule an appointment (which would have been days away). A coworker suggested I try Veach's since she had used them before and they did great work on her vehicle. The owner, A.C. quoted me $391. Since my job keeps me at odd hours, I asked if I could drop it off late. I was told it was not a problem. I dropped it off late Thursday evening. By Friday morning at 9am, I was called and the work had been completed. I certainly appreciate the quick and thorough service. My truck has been running smoothly and engine temperature has been normal. Don't expect a huge, fancy shop with polished tools. Veach's Auto is a working man's shop. Its small, things are scattered about, but they do great work and are honest and upfront on pricing. If my truck starts acting up again for any other reason, I will make sure to stop by Veach's for my next repair.
It's difficult to find an honest mechanic but AC Veach is certainly one you can trust. I live in Gallatin and still bring my car to him!!
They do great auto repair! Turnaround is always good. The location is very handy for our family, being so close to downtown Franklin.
