The outpatient programs are where I had the most authentic interactions with other people. The therapists, nurses, and Dr. Moturi are extremely helpful and caring. They really go above and beyond to make sure you, as an individual, feel worthwhile.
I loved this place so much, i went back a second time. Facility was clean. Food was good. Nurses and doctors were empathetic. I had a wonderful experience, both times, and recommend this hospital to anyone in need of substance abuse detox. Dr Carl was awesome. Andrew the nurse was sweet as could be.
Overall, if you or a loved one wants to seek help, this would be the place to go to. The only thing I could encourage others to keep in mind is that the nurses only interact with you in a certain way because that is the protocol they must follow, otherwise they will treat you very well.
Finally, make sure you or your loved one gives the appropriate information to people "on the outside," otherwise they will not be able to reach you (due to the hospital's rules and regulations for the patient's safety).
I suffer from head pains and couldn’t get in to see a specialist for several months. My parent told me about this facility and that they could prescribe medicine. I ended up staying overnight for six days. I learn several amazing coping skills and felt great on exiting the program. The nursing and doctors took time and listened to my situation. They did more in six days than Vanderbilt ER, neurologists and my PcP have done in years. This is a great facility.
I personally had a great experience here, despite my initial resistance to being there (as many do). Dr. Ferri was very straightforward with me, which I appreciated very much. The staff was amazing, compassionate, interpersonal, while maintaining professionalism. All the nurses and techs I interacted with were very friendly. Jordan, Peyton, and Angela are the ones that come to mind right now; I would like to thank them personally for being so accommodating and kind to me.
Tried to get in touch with my father (a short term patient, admitted for only 4-5 days) per an emergency and I was hung up on, told I couldn't speak to him, and was spoken to rudely when I expressed it was urgent. I get you're a psychiatric hospital, but maybe some of the staff could use some psychiatric help in not being rude.
I was treated very good here. Out of all my inpatient stays, this one did the best for me. I learned a lot from the counselors and the Dr in charge of my care. The Dr was very patient with me and actually listened to me. We worked together to find the best medicine regiment for me. You learn in the day classes and take notes. The nurses are very caring. I sometimes became very bored in the evenings in the community room with only coloring to do. But over all, if I have issues again, I hope to be able to return here for treatment.
